Highly Scaleable and Cross-platform
InterMapper is designed to monitor any network. Distributed network monitoring allows InterMapper to scale easily from single-building LANs to multi-national WANs.
A separate InterMapper server installed at a remote site isolates most of the monitored traffic on the high-speed links within the remote site. Only summary information goes back to the central office over wide area links. InterMapper distributes polling via servers that are placed at strategic locations on your network.
InterMapper’s architecture makes it easy to meet the network monitoring needs of large environments without adding significant overhead. Using InterMapper you’ll:
-
Ignore "outages" triggered by desktops that have been shut off or laptops that have been disconnected.
-
Automatically reprobe devices every 12 hours
-
Keep most monitoring traffic local to site to reduce network traffic
-
Grant/deny access to branch office staff
-
Access local submaps directly or by drilling down on top-level maps
-
Configure remote InterMapper servers from a central location
-
Remote data is firewall protected, user-selected firewall port provides secure data access with SSL encryption
InterMapper’s remote polling server is inside the firewall and does not need special permissions to access the equipment at the remote site. All connections between the remote polling sever and central office are protected via SSL encryption.
Distributed system monitoring tools are available through direct IP connections, VPNs, and firewalls (through a user-selected port) so your network details don’t reach the broader Internet
InterMapper support Windows, OSX, Linux, and UNIX operating systems.
