Server Monitoring Software

InterMapper server monitoring continually tests your servers to ensure that they are working properly. It sends queries to the server, measures the response time, and also verifies that the responses are correct. It sends alerts when the service stops operating, the response time exceeds your thresholds, or some other problem is detected. InterMapper’s server monitoring probes will monitor:

WMI and Windows/NT Service tests
Host Resources MIB via SNMP
Exchange Server
Barracuda Spam Filter (and other Spam filters)
Integrated Processor Management Interface (IPMI)
Lights out management (LOM)

Windows Management Interface (WMI) probes see deep into the Windows OS to show the server’s conditions. The Host Resources probe provides a powerful view on the CPU, disk, and memory state of your server by querying the RFC 2790 MIB using SNMP v1, v2c, or v3. Windows Services ("NT Services") are monitored directly, and you can receive an alert if a particular service stops operating.

IPSLA and QoS Monitoring

IP SLA monitoring is built into InterMapper. You can measure the Quality of Service for VoIP, videoconferencing, and other network services by staying on top of jitter, latency, and packet loss.

Server performance monitoring is critical in today’s complex IT environments. You need to know when a server stops working, so that you can get it fixed well before the phone rings. And if customers complain about slow response times, it's important to be able to assure them that the server is performing normally, without delays due to high CPU, memory or disk loads.

InterMapper is real-time, end-to-end server monitoring software. It tests your server performance every 30 seconds, not every minute or five minutes like other solutions. And it provides a synthetic transaction to prove that the server is actually functioning, instead of simply responding to a ping or TCP connection.

InterMapper offers a broad set of built-in server monitoring tools for all aspects of server performance. Our cross platform network mapping software works for Windows server monitoring, Mac server monitoring or Linux server monitoring. For Windows server monitoring, InterMapper checks WMI information (Windows Management Instrumentation as well as the state of Windows services).

You can monitor your Mac OS X servers with the Xserve probes that test the server hardware and the associated services. For Linux server monitoring (and Windows and OSX as well) InterMapper gets information from the Host Resources to view CPU, Memory, and disk utilization.

And if you are using Lights Out Management (LOM), InterMapper's IPMI probe alerts you to hardware problems in your server.
